How can I check if the domain DNS has resolved?

When you update a domain's nameservers, it can take 24 to 48 hours for the changes to fully take effect. This period is known as DNS propagation.

During this time, Internet Service Provider (ISP) nodes worldwide gradually update their caches with the new DNS information for your domain.

Because of caching at various levels, some visitors may still be directed to your old server while others access the website on the new server shortly after the change.

To check if the DNS has resolved for your domain name, please visit the following site:

https://dnschecker.org

  1. Enter domain name under "DNS Check".
  2. Select "NS" from drop-down menu.
  3. Click Search.

After clicking Search, the website will display the progress of the nameserver propagation.

Most often nameservers resolve in only 5-10 minutes, however please be aware that propagation could take up to 48 hours to fully resolve.
